Local Community Furious After Influencer Includes Their Faces In Mob Violence Vlog

MAHIKENG - The local community of Magogoe in Mahikeng has been left asking questions after several residents were arrested following information obtained from an influencer’s vlog.

TikTok user @/Pinkie_Nana was left confused after crowds began gathering outside her house in the area, following the release of a vlog in which she showed the faces of several community members. The vlog, titled “Get Ready With Me As We Go Bulala A Tsotsi”, has garnered more than 2 million views across multiple platforms as of today.

The video has since resulted in several community members being arrested for assault and other serious charges.“Back in the day, we used to necklace somebody without any cameras,” said Johnny Mape, a local community leader. “Now these influencers are killing us and saving these tsotsis.”

Pinkie_Nana has since refused to take down the video, citing “free speech and stuff”. It remains to be seen what else will happen as the community finds itself at an impasse, with some residents now reportedly refusing to appear in any video filmed in the area.

At press time, several community members were believed to be deleting their TikTok accounts, while Johnny Mape was reportedly seen asking whether we could change his name for this piece. We did not.
