Merriam-Webster has reportedly added a new phrase to its dictionary, “horny as a judge”, inspired by Judge President Selby Mbenenge.

Mbenenge made headlines last year after a tribunal panel into his possible impeachment uncovered messages he had sent to a subordinate, which he described as “sensual but not sexual”.

The dictionary reportedly received several submissions to include the phrase after the judge was exposed for being a horny oupa.“ When we reviewed all our phrases of the year, we found that ‘sober as a judge’ was no longer relevant, as judges are kinda not sober anymore,” said Bük Oxford, Head of Words at Merriam-Webster.

He added, “When the Mbenenge Tribunal kicked off, it was the perfect opportunity to emphasise the horniness that characterises judges today.”Judge Mbenenge responded to our request for comment with a lip-bite emoji.
